Breaking Records has a licensing division. What does that mean? It means that although we can’t sign every new artist we like, we can add them to our music licensing catalog.

It also means that we offer flexible and accessible rates to INDIE films, web promos and locally aired television AD’s.

Breaking For the Holidays CD Rides Again!

December 22, 2013 at 7:02 pm

Breaking Records released a Christmas CD that never grows old: ‘Breaking for the Holidays’.

If you haven’t heard Chaka Khan sing “Do You Hear What I Hear” then stop what you’re doing and listen. Above Ben Jelen gives his rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “River”. There aren’t many New Years Eve songs so look no further than “New Years Eve At Home” written by Bernadette O’Reilly and performed by Karine Hannah. The Pacific coast got a shout out from Jon Peter Lewis with “California Christmas” and a twang version of  “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” comes from The Demolition String Band along with many more sweet sounds of the Holidays.

Caribbean Beat Magazine and Deseo

Caribbean Beat Magazine

“The first track, featuring her own English translation, is “Como Fue”, but other must-listens include “Yellow Days” (made famous by Ol’ Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra), and a French rendition of “Guantanamera”, as well as the hauntingly beautiful “Júrame”. Besides her sublime singing, Bacardi is accompanied by an ensemble of greats, including Carlos Gómez on guitar, Pablo Vergara on piano, and Yunior Terry on bass, providing laid-back musical support.” -Sheldon Cadet

Breaking Records Licenses “Victory” Song to Chick Fights!

May 3, 2013 at 9:08 am

Why do we like licensing music to film, tv, commercials and web

content? Because it’s fun!

Take the song “VICTORY” by Lourds Lane. It’s kind of like Queen’s “We will rock you” with a twist of lime. We actually released it as an EP with a “B side” featuring “Victory’s” opposite equal song “Goodbye Losers” which is the same song with different lyrics, depends how you like to look at winners.

Breaking Records licensed the song “Victory” to Chick Fight (see video below).

Here’s a sample of the press Release by Black Pants Productions:

SAN FRANSISCO, California, – Black Pants Incorporated is elated to announce a new partnership with the Breaking Records Music label! Breaking Records has provided the hit, “Victory,” for ChickFight’s new theme song. “Victory” is peppy yet raw sports anthem with a heavy baseline that’s performed by Lourds Lane (who also fronts the rock band LOURDS). The new theme song further underscores ChickFight’s tough, femme-positive attitude. We are looking forward to bringing more Breaking Records tracks to ChickFight and all of the BlackPants Projects.

Maria Bacardi Debuts “Deseo” – Latin Heat

March 11, 2013 at 4:34 pm

“My art and music are both fed from my desire for looking for the truth in beauty, despite the forces of pain and grief.” — Maria Bacardi

Editor’s Note: From the moment I received a copy of Ms. Bacardi’s Deseo CD, I have not been able to get away from it. I love it! It’s romantic, joyful, melancholic, and up lifting. As a woman, her story resonates and her music is dreamy and inspiring. It brought back memories long buried. Goes to show you that you can reinvent yourself at any point in your life. – Elia Esparza
